Personal Folders or Journals

You may choose a verbal program, which doesn’t require paperwork or making copies.

Or you can plan a program which includes some writing. You may decide to have with a Personal Folder or Journaling.

PERSONAL FOLDERS

Paperwork can be kept in a personal folder which can be taken home at the conclusion of the program.  It can include a page for Strengths and a copy of the Dignity Peace Steps.

JOURNALS

Anyone can make a satisfying journal.
Writing in a personal journal can be the highlight of the session. It is fun to think about good memories of the day and successes. Participants can write about them briefly in a personal journal to remind participants of the fun and of personal value. Thinking about strengths can bring courage and hope.

A mentor can be available, when asked, to write the spelling of a word on a slip of paper so a person can copy it. Participants who can not write can choose to draw or have photos of themselves doing well. They could also take “selfies”, photos of themselves. If a person does not care to write, a mentor can be a secretary or write the person’s words for them to copy.  Space is included for photos, drawings, poems or decorations. Anyone can make a fine journal! The completed journal can be put in a folder or tied together to take home to show individual worth for years to come.

The group may cooperate in adding ideas to each person’s strength page each session or have a special day to fill out the page.

WHEN THE GROUP MAKES ADDITIONS TO THE STRENGTHS PAGE, MAKE SURE THAT EVERYONE IS INCLUDED.
